Our client wanted to use their new premises to exemplify their growing brand and local presence. This involved getting all aspects of their organisation – administration, marketing, warehousing, processing and distribution – within a single commercial retail unit in Harrow’s town centre. At the same time, company leaders aspired to reinforce the company’s ethos and promote connectivity amongst all team members.
MAAPS’s solution was to create an entwined vertical and horizontal space, with teased out glimpses and vistas between work zones over three levels. This tightly woven commercial fit-out project sits playfully within the Class E podium below a newly built residential block. We have embedded the corporate brand colours as our core palette, with references to Madagascar’s vibrant and energising landscapes.
The challenge of fitting in different corporate functions within a compact space dominated our thinking from concept to delivery. We used 3D scanning, modelling and VR immersion to puzzle out the volumetric and spatial organisation of the interior. A further new materials win was the sourcing of suspended acoustic felt ceiling rods for minimal intervention and cost. With curved and boldly colour-blocked wall units, the overall effect of the interiors is clean and sinuous.
