Sutton Place, Hackney, London

Bathrooms are sometimes the most important parts of a home. In this early Victorian townhouse, the owners required their spaces to meet both comfort and privacy exactitude.

The upper-floor bathroom was divided into bathing and WC separate spaces, to allow for increased use by home office co-workers. Tiled throughout with deeply saturated shades of grey, the resulting two rooms are easy to clean and classic in appearance.

Downstairs, a more intimate bathroom presents a large walk-in shower, encased in a semi-round feature wall of green. Vertically tiled to add the feeling of height, the space is enhanced with subtle mirrors and useful surfaces.
