Our client wanted a large house that combined entertainment and business needs, as well as space for his multigenerational family, whilst maintaining a modest streetside view. Our solution utilises the lot’s slope to demonstrate a graciousness through graduated internal heights. A triple-height lightwell celebrates the entryway and brings necessary light to the top-level loft space. Business-use and entertainment spaces are aligned along an ‘axis of energy’ that keeps the functions discrete. The only hint that there has been some craft and care designed into the interior is the complex geometric entryway.
